Defining moments between men:

Mike Nieskes:
while in office violated his oath of office, abused discretionary powers and filed a false affidavit into court records.

Mike Nieskes failed to accept responsibility for his acts, omissions, poor judgment or criminal ways.
Mike Nieskes never apologized for his errant and arrogant behavior.

Rich Chiapete:
accepted responsibility of his temporary lapse of poor judgment, plead guilty and apologized to the world.
Rich Chiapete also corrected many issues left behind from the former D.A. Mike Nieskes, including dismissing a case with prejudice that was in the corrupt Racine legal system for 20 months.

These are among many glaring differences between former D.A. and Judge Mike Nieskes, and with our current Racine County D.A.  Rich Chiapete.

When one abuses their power, and another accepts their responsibility, the difference is clear, in character and integrity.

Rich Chiapete has accepted responsibility in his error of judgment, is taking his hits and has stated so loud and clear.  This is a sign of man who understands responsibility, and shows character.

A temporary error in personal judgment is not the same as abusing ones power of their office

Art Howell:
Mr. Chiapete’s arrest was politicized by City of Racine Police Chief Art HOWELL.  This act was not only stupid, but also taints Mr. Howell as a
“Political Hack”.

Art Howell's office intentionally released arrest video, and disseminated arrest facts to the public before trial.

Art Howell also attempted to organize a meeting with all the Racine County police chiefs to “discuss the crisis” in order to further embarrass Mr. Chiapete.

The attempted meeting was a bust. The majority of Racine County police chiefs refused to participate.

Racine Journal Times:

Remember, you didn’t hear this “discuss the crisis” story from anyone else in the press.  The Racine Journal Times once again withheld valuable information from the public and spewed its own political agenda on the front page and on the internet.

Many area bloggers jumped on the story and unwittingly became the Racine Journal Times messengers.

The Racine Journal Times never disclosed to the public the 100 plus page criminal complaint filed against Mike Nieskes to the State Attorney General’s office.

The Racine Journal Times covered up the story to protect Mike Nieskes.

I already know the Racine Journal Times will not learn any lessons from this incident, but how about Art Howell?

To understand and define one’s character, you must look at the big picture, not a snap shot of life. We have all made errors, we have all had Kodak moments,  To error is human, to accept responsibility is .............

After reading the Blog Racine County Corruption - I agree.

It is corrupt.

Defending Rich Chiapete? What's the job pay?

*WOW* are you ever blind to the facts.

Not only did Rich Chiapete lie to the Police, he was in the process of trying to get someone to be the FALL Guy. That was no lapse in judgement, that is a deliberately planned act.

Rich got extra special treatment because it's common for the Police and DA to trump up charges and then later offer a so-called "plea deal" to what should have actually been charged. Some deal, huh? Yet the false charges still remain in the record.

A "few drinks" More lies. He's a big guy and works out. He had A LOT of drinks. A LOT of drinks.

The Newspapers were more than kind in limiting coverage and limiting exposure. Hopefully The JT, The Wisconsin State Journal, LEE Enterprises and The AP got lots of pay from the GOP for minimizing coverage.

Then he gets to keep his job prosecuting people. What a joke! The guys a dirt-bag and needs to be fired! This is only the first time he's been openly caught.

As Rich is "Both Eyes Blind To Government Crime", so are you! Got something to hide?

The good news is we agree and agree to disagree as I understand your position on this matter. I believe this is an aberration, and others believe this is a precursor to the future.
Time will reveal the truth. A snapshot in one's life does not define character, nor do statements made while under the influence of alcohol. Everybody has a bad day or two in their lives. Now to answer your two questions:
1. My job pays nothing, probably because this is what my job is worth
2. I have nothing to hide, if I did I wouldn't be here making myself a target to the world
Soon I will be on a boat in Alaska fishing for halibut and salmon, who wants to join me?
